This DIY was inspired by my recent trip to Urban Outfitters. I was on the lookout for new wall art and I came across a fabric banner on a wooden dowel.
Like always, UO and their ridiculous pricing stopped me from purchasing one. Urban Outfitters version is pictured below ($100).

Source: Urban Outfitters
My version is a little under $20 (assuming you already own a sewing machine, iron, scissors, and a pencil)

Supplies:
Fabric of your choice
Heat transfer Pellon (for fabric reinforcement)
Sewing machine
Wooden Dowel of your liking
Ribbon or yarn for hanging
All lead pencil
Steps:
1. Cut out fabric to desired width and length (add 1/2" to sides)
2. Iron fabric to smooth out any wrinkles
3. Iron on pellon to fabric and trim off excess (remember to iron the bumpy side to the bad side of your fabric)
4. Cut off 1/2" from sides to create smooth edges and make desired shape for the bottom
5. Measure dowel and sew seam
6. Place wooden dowel into seam
7. Iron on letters, felt side up (iron on both front and back of the fabric)
8. Tie ribbon onto dowel
9. Hang up and enjoy!
