Welcome,

I am so excited, this is my first blog post. It will focus where to purchase your materials/tools and on how to save money in these stores.

Michaels

Obviously it would not be a complete list if Michaels was not included.

Here's why Michaels is amazing, they let you stack up coupons!

Competitors Accepted: A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, Garden Ridge, Roberts, Pat Catan’s, and Ben Franklin.

  • You are able to use more than one coupon per day.

Example: (1) Michaels, (1) Hobby Lobby, and (1) JoAnn’s could all be accepted when purchasing (3) items.

  • As mentioned above you are not allowed to stack coupons with identical barcodes in one day.

Example: You are not able to use a printable coupon and mobile coupon for 40% off with the same barcode.

  • You are able to use multiple same-store coupons with different barcodes.

Example: You are able to use (1) coupon for 25% off your entire purchase and (1) coupon for 40% off one item, but the 25% off coupon will not apply to the item that the 40% off coupon is attached to.

JoAnn’s

At JoAnn’s you can get some pretty great deals. Like Michaels they too offer multiple ways in which you can save money. If you are a student, you can sign up and receive a student discount card that can be applied on your total purchase even if items are on sale and when using other coupons. Like Michaels they too have the option of letting you use competitor coupons and double coupon as long as the barcode is different. All of Michaels rules (above) apply to JoAnn’s.

Hobby Lobby

Another one that should obviously be this list. One thing that I like about Hobby Lobby is that if you need fabric you can get it here all in one place. They do offer a fairly small range of fabrics, but they will do for small projects.

Unlike JoAnn’s and Michaels, they only let you use one coupon type per customer per day and they do not accept competitor’s coupons.

Hancock Fabrics

They offer a great selection of fabrics for any type of project. Great discounts too. They currently do not have mobile app.

Walmart/Target

Both offer basic crafting supplies. Some Walmart’s do sell fabric. Target has their dollar section and if you're like me you get sucked right into it and end up buying more than you need.

  • One thing I love about Target is that they let you stack up coupons. They let you use a manufactures coupon, a target coupon (from either their website or ad), and cartwheel (their coupon mobile app). This can be done per item.

Etsy

Etsy has some great one of a kind crafting supplies. So many different shops to chose from each with their own style.

Local Mom & Pop Shops

I love shopping local; it always feels good to help support small businesses. There are two small shops that about 15 minutes away from where I live and they always have things that big box chains don't offer. Plus, it doesn't hurt that they know me already and they always let me know when they get new merchandise.

Sign up for coupons through their websites/apps and in-store for mail-in coupons.

In honor of Netflix finally putting up the last season of Parks and Recreations I have a freebie that was inspired by Tom and Donna. Two custom 8.5 x 10 prints that I have created and you can print out from home and frame. To download simply click on the image below and the download should load immediately. Enjoy!

for personal use only

Enjoy
